Annual Plan 2026–27 – Overview
The Annual Plan of Vandanmedu Grama Panchayat gives priority to key sectors such as agriculture, health, social welfare, infrastructure development, welfare of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, and women’s empowerment. The projects have been prepared with the objective of ensuring the overall development of the Panchayat and the welfare of the people.
Major Sectors
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
The plan includes financial assistance for farmers for organic manure subsidies, paddy cultivation, tuber crop cultivation, and integrated farming.
Projects are also being implemented for livestock protection, development of veterinary hospitals, dog vaccination, poultry farming, and related activities.
Health and Social Security
The plan includes palliative care activities, development of Ayurvedic hospitals, and health awareness programmes.
Priority has been given to nutrition programmes through Anganwadis and welfare schemes for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Women and Child Welfare
The plan includes vocational training programmes for women, women’s fitness clubs, and nutrition programmes.
Provision has also been made for equipment, furniture, and basic infrastructure development in Anganwadis.
Infrastructure Development
Infrastructure development activities such as road concreting, tarring, drainage works, and renovation of the Panchayat office are being implemented in various wards.
A substantial amount has also been allocated for the Jal Jeevan Mission project.
Welfare of Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes
The plan includes educational assistance and study materials for Scheduled Caste students, housing schemes, and drinking water projects.
For Scheduled Tribe communities, projects focusing on drinking water, nutrition, and improvement of living standards are being implemented.
